2023 Turkey-Syria Earthquake
If you haven't heard, a few weeks ago, a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey & Syria, causing unimaginable damage and ending almost 30,000 lives (by last check). The situation is incredibly dire as in many places, entire cities have been leveled by the seismic activity, and there is simply too much carnage to handle in the short amount of time allotted.
By the grace of divinity however, babies and children are being pulled from the rubble, alive, and taken to hospitals to be cared for by midwives and nurses round the clock. If you are like me, your heart longs to help, but you likely don't know how. While obviously many of us would rush into the wreckage in a heartbeat, it isn't conducive, and as my father would say, "The best way for you to help is by staying out of the way".
it is in regards to the aforementioned that I have begun the campaign, Textiles for Turkey, in which interested parties who craft, sew, or who would simply like to donate, can send in things such as blankets, clothing, comfort items, and more to then be sent to the hospitals in the areas most heavily affected. I will be coordinating with local charities to get the textiles overseas, but could use all the help I can get in regards to making and or/purchasing the aforementioned baby items for the cause!
To donate, please send items addressed as follows:
